Yes. Sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed with other metals, and that alloy reacts slowly with air and with skin. It darkens where it sits closest and brightens where it rubs.
A polishing cloth comes with every order and takes it back in about a minute. Our guide to silver tarnishing covers how to slow it down.
925 means 92.5% pure silver, alloyed for strength. Recycled means it is reclaimed from existing material rather than newly mined.
It behaves identically to newly mined sterling — the difference is where it came from, and that difference is most of why our footprint sits where it does.
The polishing cloth in your order handles most of it. For anything heavier, warm water with a little dish soap and a soft brush, then dry completely.
Avoid silver dips and abrasive pastes, which strip the darkened detail from textured pieces.
It will not damage the silver, but chlorine and salt accelerate tarnishing and soap leaves a film that dulls the finish.
Taking it off is better. If you forget, dry it properly and give it a minute with the cloth.
Every piece carries a lifetime craftsmanship warranty. If something fails because of how it was made, we repair or replace it.
Wear and tear is different from a fault, but send us a photograph and we will tell you honestly which one it is.
